Post Rock Community Foundation awards over $55,000 in fall grants
During the fall grant cycle, the Post Rock Community Foundation awarded over $55,000 to 11 projects throughout Lincoln County and communities served by USD #298 and #299. The following organizations received funding:
- Lincoln County, $12,250 to purchase AED’s for Lincoln County.
- USD #299, $10,000 towards the softball field construction.
- Vesper Community Center, $3,309.93 to purchase refrigerator and upright freezer.
- Luray Community Foundation, $3,400.00 to change fluorescent lighting to LED.
- USD #298, $10,000 towards the final phase of the Mettner Field project.
- Lincoln Senior Center, $7,475.78 to purchase a commercial dishwasher.
- Lincoln County Economic Development Foundation, $5,000 to support phase 1 of the downtown pocket park.
- USD #299, $2,000 to purchase a new sliding table for the SawStop table saw.
- USD #299, $5,000 to purchase a DTF printer for the Applied Business class.
- USD #299, $500 to purchase novel sets and desk dividers.
- USD #299, $500 to purchase items for classroom STEM kits.
This round of grants was made possible by six funds at the community foundation: the Post Rock Community Action Fund, the Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund, the Patterson Family Foundation Fund, and the Sylvan Area Fund; which all focus on improving quality of life throughout our service area. The Kansas Health Foundation Fund for Post Rock and the Post Rock Healthy Living Fund support the public health of Lincoln County and communities served by USD #298 and #299.
