Post Rock Community Foundation Awards 2014 Grants

The Post Rock Community Foundation is pleased to announce its 2014 grant recipients from the Post Rock Community Action Fund.  This year ten applications were received with over $6,300 in requests and only $1,930 available making it a very competitive process.

This year’s recipients are:

  •  $560- Lincoln County Health Department to help fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program
  • $560- Sylvan Historical Society to help renovate the Sylvan Grove Railroad Depot
  • $560- Vesper Men’s Community Center to purchase new tables for the center
  • $250- USD 299 to purchase a speaker and microphones for music performances

The Post Rock Community Action Fund is an unrestricted grant fund that supports charitable needs and causes throughout Lincoln County and communities served by USD 298 & 299.  It is a permanently endowed fund that provides annual grants based on 5% of the fund balance and will continue to grow over time.  All donations to this fund for the next three years will also help earn a 50% match from the Kansas Health Foundation’s GROW II program.  The matching dollars earned go to support public health in the Post Rock area and Foundation operations.
