New funds established at PRCF

Wednesday, March 19th, 2014

Two new funds were established at the Post Rock Community Foundation.

The Post Rock Community Foundation is happy to announce the establishment of two new designated funds- The Robert Durham Trust for the Friends of S.P. Dinsmoor’s Garden of Eden and the Robert Durham Trust for the Lucas Area Community Theater.  These funds are permanently endowed and will provide an annual permanent stream of income to the designated charities.  The principal of the funds will exist in perpetuity and provide substantial assistance (an annual 5 percent of fund balance distribution) in meeting the various needs of the two organizations.

“The Foundation greatly appreciates the generous gift and two new funds started by Dee Durham to honor her husband Bob and family,” said PRCF Board Chair Sandy Labertew. “Because of her understanding and trust of the Post Rock Community Foundation, she is providing a means to support and improve the Lucas community for future generations,” said Labertew.

“Since Bob was a shrine clown and enjoyed being with the children, I wanted his memorial to reflect that,” Durham commented.  “I also wanted it to be in our area, so I chose Lucas Area Community Theater and Friends of the Garden of Eden.”

Although these funds were established by an individual donor, anyone can contribute to the funds with no minimum amount.  All gifts contributed to these funds through December 31, 2017, will also help earn a 25 percent match from the Kansas Health Foundation’s GROW II matching grant program.

The match amount earned will support local public health initiatives as well as Foundation operations.  For more information on how to set up an endowed fund or contribute to an existing one, contact the Foundation at 785-526-7188 or visit our website at
