Community foundation awards over $70,000 in grants

The Post Rock Community Foundation recently awarded over $70,000 in spring grants to area nonprofits. Grants were funded through the foundation’s Dane G. Hansen Community Grant Fund and the Post Rock Community Action Fund.

The following organizations received funding:

  • Sylvan Senior Center, $18,000 to renovate Farmer’s Elevator as a new space for the senior center.
  • USD 298 Lincoln, $15,260 to purchase lighting and a sound system for the LES stage and gym.
  • Bethany Church of Lincoln County, $15,000 to help put a new roof on the church.
  • USD 299, $13,380 to purchase a new steam table for the elementary school kitchen.
  • Vesper Community Center, $3,000 to upgrade entrance accessibility, safety and energy efficiency.
  • Hunter Economic Development Corporation, $2,500 to help purchase a digital sign for the Hunter community.
  • Lincoln County Historical Society, $2,000 for a 150th anniversary remembrance event commemorating the Spillman Creek Indian Raid.
  • Lincoln Art Center, $500 for a music festival at the Lincoln Golf Course.
  • USD 299, $489 for art supplies, including student tabletop easels and brush sets used for painting in oils, watercolors, and acrylics.
